Course Description
Learn the underpinning skills and knowledge required to apply basic infection prevention and control principles in work settings including implementing standard and transmission-based precautions and responding to risks. Students can apply this skill set for working in a range of industry and work setting contexts. The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State or Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.

Entry Requirements and Enrolment Information
Pre-Requisites
There are no entry requirements into this training product
Pre-Entry Requirements
Students are recommended to be working and typically over the age of 16 years old seeking to formalise their Infection Control and Prevention within the context of their workspace.
LLND Test
Participants are required to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) skills assessment to finalise their
enrolment into the course. This is an AQF Level 3 training product and LLND student support plans are available to assist learners.
Online Learning
Students will be required to complete their theory modules and upload their practical workplace evidence through their individual student portal.
Technology
Students are required to have a device with internet connection with a minimum of 8GB of RAM, microphone, video and speakers.
RPL and CT
Participants are welcome to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT) prior though this is not recommended for this Skill Set due to industry expectations and standards.
Further Study Pathways
Students who successfully complete this skill set, can provide credit transfer towards qualifications in a range of training packages.
Certification
Students who successfully achieve competency will receive an
NRT, Statement of Attainment in:

● HLTINF006 Apply basic principles and practices of infection prevention and control
