Description
Learn the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with the guidelines set by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other national peak clinical bodies. This course is suitable for individuals who may be required to provide first aid in a wide range of situations.
What you will learn:
Discover how to respond to an emergency situation where first aid is required, including assisting with adrenaline auto-injectors, AED use, bronchodilators and spacer devices, applying wound dressings, and using the correct PPE.

Entry & Requirements
There are no national entry requirements for this course. Participants must complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) skills assessment to finalise their enrolment. Students must complete their theory modules through the student portal and finish the pre-assessment activities before attending the face-to-face practical session.
Participants must also have a device with internet access, minimum 8GB RAM, microphone, and speakers to complete the online components. Students will be required to physically get on the floor to perform CPR compressions, which involves bending the knees and back to perform chest compressions.
Conditions & Renewal
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT) are not available for this unit of competency due to refresher requirement guidelines.This course is recommended to be renewed every three (3) years in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC).
Certification
Students who successfully achieve competency will receive an NRT, Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency:

This course is delivered in a blended format, combining 12 hours of structured, self-directed online theory with face-to-face practical training.
